Forex Lab Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Forex Lab handles information when you use the Forex Lab Android app and its related backend services.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the Forex Lab Android application, the Forex Lab backend, and related services used to deliver live charts, signals, alerts, presets, scanner results, historical checks, and subscription features.
2. Information We Collect and Process
Depending on the features you use, Forex Lab may process the following categories of data:
- App and device session identifiers, such as an installation ID, backend user ID derived from that installation, and backend session tokens needed to keep the app connected to the service.
- Local app settings, such as selected pair, timeframe, theme, chart state, and strategy settings stored on your device for app functionality.
- Synced strategy data, such as saved presets, alert rules, scanner settings, and historical-check settings when those features are used.
- Push notification registration data, such as Firebase Cloud Messaging push token, installation ID, and notification-enabled status, if you enable notifications.
- Subscription and purchase verification data, such as Google Play purchase token, subscription product ID, subscription plan, purchase state, related entitlement status, and scan-credit purchase verification data, if you buy or restore Forex Lab Pro or purchase scan-credit packs.
- Market-analysis requests and responses, such as requested pair, timeframe, strategies, backtest parameters, scanner parameters, chart bars, and generated signals or proposed setups.
- Major News briefing data, such as cached macro-news brief output, source links, configured timezone context used to localize scheduled event labels, and public web/news search context used by the backend to prepare the brief.
- Analytics and diagnostics data, such as app-instance identifiers, Firebase installation identifiers, screen views, app interactions, app lifecycle events, purchase and subscription analytics events, crash logs, device and app metadata, approximate location derived from masked IP by analytics providers, and advertising identifiers where available through Google Play services and Firebase Analytics in release builds.
- Operational and support data, such as IP address, user agent, request timestamps, backend logs, and emails or messages you send to support.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- deliver live charts, signals, scanner results, alerts, and historical checks
- remember your settings and improve app usability
- sync saved presets and alert rules across app sessions
- register and deliver push notifications that you enable
- verify subscriptions and unlock Pro features
- prepare cached Major News briefs and summarize macro-news context for supported forex pairs
- measure feature usage, product flow, and purchase conversion
- protect the service from abuse, fraud, and service instability
- debug crashes, backend errors, and infrastructure issues
- respond to support or privacy requests
4. Information Stored on Your Device
Forex Lab stores some information locally on your device, including selected pair, timeframe, chart state, app preferences, and strategy settings. This local storage is used to make the app function properly and is not used for advertising.
If you save chart captures, annotations, or exports, those files are stored on your device or in app-controlled cache/storage until you remove them or share them.
5. Backend Processing
Forex Lab uses a backend service to fetch market data, generate signals, rank proposed setups, run scanner and historical-check workflows, store synced presets and alert rules, manage entitlement state, deliver backend-driven alerts, and prepare cached Major News briefs.
The backend may also use standard operational processing such as caching, rate limiting, authentication, request logging, and monitoring needed to keep the service reliable and secure.
For the Major News feature, the backend may use OpenAI as a service provider to summarize public macro-news coverage and economic-calendar context into a cached trader-oriented brief. This processing may include timezone context used to format scheduled event labels and public source URLs returned with the brief. Forex Lab does not use this feature to send chart screenshots, drawing annotations, purchase credentials, or free-form user prompts to OpenAI.
6. Third-Party Services
Forex Lab uses third-party providers to operate parts of the service, including:
- Google Play Billing to process and verify Forex Lab Pro subscriptions
- Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications
- Firebase Analytics to measure app usage, screen views, and purchase events
- Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and related diagnostics
- OpenAI to generate cached Major News summaries from public web/news coverage and configured timezone context
- cloud hosting, caching, and infrastructure providers used to run the backend
- market-data providers used to retrieve forex price data
- email providers if you contact support by email
These providers process data only as needed to provide their part of the service.
7. Advertising, Analytics, and Profiling
Forex Lab is not an ad-supported app and does not use advertising IDs for ad targeting, ad sales, or third-party ad networks.
The Android app currently includes Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics in release builds. These services may process app-instance identifiers, Firebase installation identifiers, app interactions, screen views, app lifecycle events, purchase and subscription events, crash logs, device and app metadata, and approximate location derived from masked IP.
Because Firebase Analytics is included, Google Play services may make advertising identifiers available to the app's analytics stack where supported by the platform and user settings. Forex Lab does not use those identifiers to serve ads or build third-party advertising profiles.
8. Data Sharing and Sale
Forex Lab does not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers only when needed to host, secure, cache, deliver notifications, verify subscriptions, generate cached Major News summaries, or otherwise operate the app and backend.
For the Major News feature, this may include sharing configured timezone context, public web/news search instructions, and generated summary content with OpenAI as a service provider acting on our behalf.
We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of the service.
9. Data Retention
We retain different categories of data for different periods depending on the purpose:
- local device settings remain until you clear app data or uninstall the app
- saved presets and alert rules remain until you delete them or request removal
- push registration data may remain until notifications are disabled, the token becomes invalid, or the registration is cleaned up
- subscription verification and entitlement records may be retained as needed for subscription support, fraud prevention, and compliance
- analytics and crash data may be retained according to Firebase and Google Analytics retention settings and operational needs
- cached Major News briefs and related source metadata may be retained for limited operational periods to support scheduled refreshes, delivery, and troubleshooting
- logs, cache entries, and temporary market snapshots are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for operations, reliability, and debugging
- chart captures or exports saved to your device remain until you delete them from device storage
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect data in transit and at rest where applicable. However, no internet-based service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Your Choices
- you can decline notification permission or disable notifications later in Android settings
- you can manage analytics- and identifier-related controls provided by Android or Google settings, such as advertising identifier reset or limitation where supported by your device and region
- you can delete saved presets and alert rules from within the app where those controls are available
- you can uninstall the app and clear local app data from your device
- for privacy-related requests, including removal of synced backend data where reasonably applicable, you can contact the support address below
Forex Lab does not currently require a traditional username/password account to use the app. Some backend-linked data is associated with your app installation and backend user ID instead.
12. Children
Forex Lab is not directed to children and is not intended for users under the age of 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the service, contact us so we can review the issue.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version should always be published at the privacy policy URL used by the app and on Google Play.
